Qualified via: CONMEBOL — 4th Place W9 D3 L6 — 30pts

Ecuador qualified comfortably through CONMEBOL, finishing fourth ahead of Chile and Bolivia. Beccacece's side are built around one of the best central midfielders in the world — Moisés Caicedo — and a solid defensive structure that conceded fewer goals than most in qualifying.

The veteran Enner Valencia, still dangerous at set pieces and from open play, provides the target up front. Ecuador are a compact, well-organised side that doesn't concede cheaply.

Key Player: Moisés Caicedo

The Chelsea midfielder is extraordinary. His ability to cover ground, win the ball, and immediately drive forward has made him one of the Premier League's most coveted players. For Ecuador he is both defensive anchor and attacking catalyst — the team is a different animal with him in it.

Tactical Setup

Beccacece's 4-3-3 presses in coordinated waves. Caicedo sits slightly deeper than the two advanced midfielders, breaking up play and recycling. Ecuador can be countered when overcommitted, but are disciplined and organised.

Tournament History

Four appearances. The 2006 Round of 16 exit to England remains the high point. Ecuador have punched above their weight in every tournament they've entered.
