Qualified via: CAF — Group B Winners W5 D3 L0 — 18pts

Senegal are back as Africa's second highest-ranked side and defending AFCON runners-up. Aliou Cissé has built one of the continent's most complete squads — defensively solid through Koulibaly and Mendy, powerful in midfield via Gueye and Diatta, and dangerous in attack through Mané and Sarr.

Qualifying unbeaten reflects the strength across the squad. Group H with France, Norway, and Iraq is the hardest draw possible but Cissé's side will not be intimidated.

Key Player: Sadio Mané

At 34, Mané's explosive pace has dimmed slightly but his intelligence, leadership, and finishing remain world-class. He is Senegal's captain, talisman, and inspiration — the player opposition defences still must plan specifically to contain.

Tactical Setup

Cissé's 4-3-3 is physically imposing and technically polished. Senegal press high in transitions, use Gueye to win balls centrally, and look to release Mané and Sarr at pace on the flanks. Koulibaly's leadership from the back gives the whole team a defensive foundation.

Tournament History

Four appearances. The 2002 quarter-final run — defeating France in the opener — is African football legend. Senegal are determined to match or exceed that landmark.
